Sometimes we repress and hold our feeling for so long that the emotions end up hurting us, curtailing our growth, and preventing us from having real emotions. When we don’t allow ourselves to feel our emotions because we fear criticism or being seen as weak or helpless, we block out important and positive emotions and prevent ourselves from having a healthy and balanced life. No one has it all together all the time, and we need to give ourselves permission to be human and allow our feelings to surface and not feel ashamed of them. Emotion is energy, and sitting with your emotions, holding them back, and not letting them out allows them to build up and can lead to depression, drug abuse, and more.
Some days will not be great, and you will only sometimes have the best days or feel your best all the time. That is okay, and it's how life is for everyone. We all have positive and negative emotions, and expressing them allows you to be human. Holding your emotions, even the positive ones, can cause physical and emotional harm. If we express our emotions properly and responsibly, it can help us be more healthy, happier, and more self-aware. It doesn’t matter where you are, your past, your childhood, or your circumstance. Expressing your emotions will never hurt you. It will only lead to a better life that is more authentic to who you truly are.
Join the conversation with your host Tommy as he shares more about emotions, how to express yourself properly to improve your life, and some personal experiences he has been through. It’s okay not to be okay, it’s okay to have bad days, we all do, and it’s life, but what you do with it, how you sit with it, how you deal with it, is what matters. Being able to express your emotions and letting them out is not just about feeling better; it's about being human.
